Two teams bidding for a rare CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualification face off in their qualifying opener as Libya come up against Botswana on Thursday.

Libya vs Botswana Prediction
Three-time AFCON qualifiers Libya come into this one on the back of draws against Niger and Liberia in the March international break to extend their unbeaten run of form to eight matches since losing to Cameroon in March.
Botswana did qualify for their second AFCON in 2025 but they were perhaps the weakest team in the competition in Morocco. Botswana haven’t played since losing to both Zimbabwe and Malawi a few months ago.
Libya have to be viewed as slight favourites for this one given how difficult they have been to beat of late but it is unlikely to be a thriller for the neutral.
