The reason as to why the Finnish champions, Kuopion Palloseura, won’t be in the UEFA Europa League league phase is because they suffered a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Midtjylland at the MCH Arena in Denmark in the first-leg of this playoff round tie last week, with Adam Buksa opening the scoring for the Danes before a Dario Osorio strike. Junior Brumado then snatched a brace late on to complete the victory.

KuPS will be in the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League and they will hope to restore some pride with home advantage in this second-leg against a Midtjylland side that were unconvincing against Hibernian in the previous round.

Midtjylland may well rotate as they make the trip to Finland this week, and that should lead to quite an entertaining encounter, and so the visitors are the firm favourites still.
