Juventus preview: Rebuilding Juve

Following the appointment of former Napoli and Italy boss Luciano Spalletti, Juventus begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots, with an inconsistent recent run of form.

The Bianconeri did back up an unconvincing 2-0 defeat of Pafos in the UEFA Champions League by then producing an impressive performance to defeat Bologna by a goal to nil at the Renato Dall’Ara, courtesy of a Juan Cabal second-half winner.

Roma preview: Title challenging Romans

Coached by Gian Piero Gasperini, who was appointed over the summer, Roma have turned themselves into genuine title challengers in Serie A, beginning the 16th match day of the campaign sitting three points behind Internazionale at the top-of-the-table.

The Giallorossi recovered from back-to-back Serie A losses by hammering Celtic in the UEFA Europa League before edging past Como by a goal to nil at the Stadio Olimpico, courtesy of a 60th minute strike scored by former Flamengo defender Wesley.

Juventus team news: Koopmeiners suspended

Having been moved into a position within the back three, Netherlands international Teun Koopmeiners is now missing through suspension, while the likes of Federico Gatti and Dusan Vlahovic are still out injured.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Kelly, Bremer; McKennie, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, David, Yildiz

Unavailable: Pinsoglio (Injured), Gatti (Injured), Koopmeiners (Suspended), Milik (Injured), Vlahovic (Injured)

Questionable:

Roma team news: No El Aynaoui or Celik

Turkey international right-back Zeki Celik is missing through suspension for this one, with Ukraine international striker Artem Dovbyk out injured alongside key man Neil El Aynaoui.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Ndicka, Mancini, Mario Hermoso; Rensch, Cristante, Kone, Wesley; Matias Soule, Pellegrini; Ferguson

Unavailable: Celik (Suspended), El Aynaoui (Injured), Bove (Illness), Dovbyk (Injured)

Questionable:

Juventus vs Roma prediction

Luciano Spalletti is known for his very attacking style of football but the Old Lady are yet to find their fluency under the management of the former Italy manager. Juventus have begun to become a little more difficult to beat with a fair bit of control in possession. The Romans are the exact same with very few chances or goals conceded and so this may be easy on the eye in terms of style, but it is unlikely to be full of goalmouth action.

Juventus vs Roma tip: Under 2.5 goals
