Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs Casper Ruud prediction
Juan Manuel Cerundolo continued his impressive season with a comeback win over Miomir Kecmanovic to advance to the quarter-finals in Gstaad. The Argentine was not broken in sets two and three as he won 3-6 6-3 7-5. Cerundolo progressed to the final of this event last year, while he also reached the round-of-16 at Roland Garros two months ago.
He takes on second seed Casper Ruud in the last eight. Ruud also had to come from a set down to beat Jaime Faria in his opening match. Faria edged ahead after winning the first set on a tiebreak, but Ruud soon took control and ended up winning 6-7 (1) 6-4 6-2. The Norwegian is a two-time winner at this tournament.
Ruud is the clear favourite, but Cerundolo is becoming a dangerous player on clay. If he can extend the rallies to his advantage, the former world number two is likely to encounter problems.
