Jana Kovackova is set to make her tour-level debut at her home event, having only just turned 16 last month. She has won all four major titles in girl’s doubles, winning all four in consecutive tournaments. Thus, Kovackova became the first player to complete a non-calendar Grand Slam in girl’s doubles. In terms of singles, she reached her first ITF final in February, and won her first title two months later in Antalya.
Her first-round opponent is Lanlana Tararudee. The 22-year-old enters this event on the back of her second ITF title in 2026 following success in Istanbul. Tararudee is now up to 82 in the world, her highest ever ranking. She has reached three lower-level finals in total, and she will now be hoping to translate that form onto the WTA Tour.
It’s a tough ask for Kovackova on her debut to get a result here. Tararudee will be full of confidence after her exploits last week.
