Jaime Faria vs Stan Wawrinka prediction

Jaime Faria excelled at Wimbledon as he qualified for the main draw following three straight wins and then won his first-round match impressively against Sho Shimabukuro. His run would end after a four set defeat to in-form Zizou Bergs. The Portuguese has reached two finals on the Challenger Tour this season, along with a run to the quarter-finals of the Rio Open.

He will face three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka in the first-round. Wawrinka competed at Wimbledon for the final time in his career, losing an epic match against Matteo Berrettini in round one. The 41-year-old will retire at the end of the season in Basel, so this will be the penultimate event of his career on home soil. His best result was a run to the final all the way back in 2005.

Wawrinka can still be competitive in a best of three set match, but Faria is also likely to have moments of control. This could go to a deciding set.

Jaime Faria vs Stan Wawrinka tip: Both players to win a set
