Italy vs Spain prediction

On what is widely recognised as the weaker side of the draw, Italy will fancy their chances of causing Norway problems should they get through, but they will also be aware that perhaps pulling off an upset and defeating Spain will see them face an even more beatable opponent in the quarter-finals than even Norway.

They now face a Spain side that are the world champions and came into the tournament as the favourites with a star studded squad. They have been utterly brilliant in their opening two matches with a 5-0 demolition of Portugal being followed up by beating Belgium by six goals to two the other day.

Italy will need to avoid a major goal difference swing and they should be able to do so against a likely rotated Spain side. Spain remain favourites but it may a good watch for the neutral.
