Ireland vs Portugal prediction

The Republic of Ireland’s qualification campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup ended before it began as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Armenia in September. However, the Irish were hard-fought in defeat to Portugal last month before then defeating the Armenians in the Irish capital city.

Roberto Martinez has an excellent Portugal side at his disposal and they began their campaign with emphatic victories in September before that underwhelming performance against Ireland was then followed by a draw with Hungary in Lisbon last month.

Portugal will dictate the entirety of this game with Ireland not even wanting the ball and a Portuguese victory is to be expected in a potentially tedious one-sided affair.

Ireland vs Portugal tip: Portugal to win & under 3.5 goals
