Lionel Messi has been carrying an injury and so has missed Inter Miami’s last couple of games, with the Argentine marked as a doubt for this one. Javier Mascherano’s side recently shared a 1-1 draw with a poor DC United side in the capital city at the weekend, but their full focus will have been on this upcoming semi-final against Orlando.
A few weeks ago, Orlando City dispatched of Inter Miami by four goals to one in Orlando. Orlando City currently sit a point and a place above Inter Miami in the Eastern Conference table, but Inter Miami do have three games in hand on Orlando. The visitors most recently suffered a 5-1 hammering at the hands of Nashville.
There will be a view that Orlando’s annihilation of Miami a few weeks ago was a bit of an anomaly, and Inter Miami are expected to push past them in the table, and push past them in the semi-finals of the Leagues Cup, too.
