Hull vs Oxford prediction

On the opening day of the campaign, Hull City began with a goalless draw against Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The Tigers backed that up by having a 3-1 lead at the Racecourse Ground against Wrexham, before conceding twice in second-half stoppage-time and going on to lose on penalties to the Red Dragons.

They now face an Oxford United side that, under the management of Gary Rowett, are expected to once again struggle this season. The U’s started with a slender 1-0 loss to Portsmouth at the Kassam Stadium. That was then backed up by a slender and much-needed 1-0 defeat of League Two Colchester United in the EFL Cup.

Hull appear to lack goals, despite their 3-3 draw in midweek, and Oxford intentionally play a very defensive and reactive style so a low-scoring encounter is to be expected.

Hull vs Oxford tip: Under 2.5 goals
