Hellas Verona preview: Poor start

Hellas Verona come into this one on the back of a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Lazio in their most recent outing at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome a couple of weeks ago, prior to the September international break. They have collected one point from their opening couple of Serie A matches thus far this season.

They are one of the team expected to struggle most, with former Empoli boss Paolo Zanetti still at the helm. Verona did manage to get themselves clear from safety last year and have brought in some intriguing signings over the summer transfer window, as they seek to try and push away from the danger zone.

Cremonese preview: Strong start

It has been a brilliant start to the season for Cremonese, following their promotion back to Serie A last season. They appointed former Cagliari boss Davide Nicola over the summer and they have started their campaign with back-to-back victories and a couple of extremely impressive performances to go with.

The Cremona-based outfit went away to San Siro on the opening day of the season and they managed to defeat AC Milan by two goals to one. A week later, they produced a comeback to defeat fellow newly-promoted side Sassuolo by three goals to two to leave them joint top of Serie A after the opening couple of matches of the campaign.

Hellas Verona team news: No Daniel Mosquera

Hellas Verona remain without arguably their most effective forward, Daniel Mosquera, due to injury, whilst both Nahuel Valentini and Tomas Suslov are both sidelined.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Montipo; Unai Nunez, Nelsson, Ebosse; Cham, Harroui, Bernede, Serdar, Bradaric; Giovane, Sarr

Unavailable: Valentini (Injured), Suslov (Injured), Daniel Mosquera (Injured)

Questionable: Yellu Santiago (Injured)

Cremonese team news: A potential Vardy party

Prior to the deadline, Cremonese brought in striker Jamie Vardy. The Englishman remains unlikely to start, though, given Cremonese’s excellent start to the season.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Audero; Terracciano, Baschirotto, Bianchetti; Zerbin, Collocolo, Bondo, Vandeputte, Pezzella; Tonny Sanabria, Vazquez

Unavailable:

Questionable: Barbieri (Injured), Johnsen (Injured), Bonazzoli (Injured)

Hellas Verona vs Cremonese prediction

Cremonese have started brilliantly and the feel good factor should continue with the arrival of Jamie Vardy on a free transfer. They are playing some enterprising football as they head to a Verona side that have, as ever, made some good but, more importantly, almost too many new signings before the close of the window. That could leave them in a position where things take time to gel and therefore siding with Cremonese would appear a good value bet for this one at the Bentegodi.
