Harriet Dart vs Liudmila Samsonova prediction
Harriet Dart’s grass court season began in Birmingham last week, but she lost her opening match to Nikola Bartunkova despite taking the first set. She has reached two lower-level finals in 2026, but she was unable to win either title. Dart attempted to qualify for both of the first two majors this year but could not find a way through to the main draw.
Her first-round opponent is Liudmila Samsonova. The Russian was an early casualty at Roland Garros as she was beaten by Jil Teichmann in straight sets. That made it three straight losses for Samsonova, who is without a victory since the second-round of the Italian Open at the start of May. It’s not been a great season for her up to this point, as she has lost 13 of her 20 matches overall.
Nevertheless, Dart lacks the firepower to pull off an upset here. Samsonova is an effective player on grass, having made the quarter-finals of Wimbledon last year, along with winning two WTA tour titles on the surface.
