Guatemala vs El Salvador prediction
Guatemala come into this one on the back of a surprising run to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where they were then beaten by the United States. In CONCACAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they finished second in their group, behind Jamaica after a 3-0 loss to the Reggae Boyz in their final game.
El Salvador, on the other hand, went through Group F without a defeat, managing two victories against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Anguilla, and two draws against Suriname and Puerto Rico. In contrast to Guatemala, El Salvador exited the group stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup without a point.
These two shared a 1-1 draw in a friendly in June and they do appear to be relatively evenly matched, but Guatemala would have to be favoured with their home advantage.
