How to watch online: UK – FIFA+ / US – FIFA+

Key Stats

  • The Gambia are aiming to win successive matches in the same edition of World Cup qualifying for the first time.
  • Only one of Burundi’s previous 29 World Cup qualifying matches finished without a goal being scored (that was a 0-0 home draw against Gabon in October 2003).

Gambia vs Burundi Prediction

Second place and the runner up spot in each group could earn a playoff spot, but such has been the consistency and quality of both Gabon and the Ivory Coast, that is now not on offer to Gambia and Burundi, with the former having been eliminated, whilst the latter would need to win all three games, whilst hoping Gabon lose all three.

Gambia most recently defeated Kenya by three goals to one the other day, courtesy of excellent performances from both Yankuba Minteh and Musa Barrow. Burundi, on the other hand, were edged out by a goal to nil by the Ivory Coast as a result of a winning goal scored by former Watford striker Vakoun Bayo.

Both Gambia and Burundi have been excellent to watch, especially in relative terms in comparison to the rest of African international football, and both teams scoring would be a good bet for this one.

Gambia vs Burundi Tip: Both teams to score
