THE PREDICTION
The ‘Path A’ final sees Hungary and Iceland duke it out for a spot in the rescheduled Euro 2020 tournament after making it this far on account of their performances in the Nations League. A glance at the form book reveals that Hungary look in better shape here – at least on paper – as they have only lost one of their last five while Iceland have picked up just one victory over the same sequence of games. However, the quality of their respective opposition has to be taken into account as Iceland have been facing off against the likes of Belgium and England, and in fact they competed well with the number one-ranked Belgians in a narrow 1-2 loss last month. The Hungarians will look to keep things tight as that has served them well in recent times, and while Iceland are not as resolute at the back as they once were, they are capable of stifling the opposition in this crucial game. This could easily swing both ways but backing the draw after 90 minutes could be worthwhile.
