Flavio Cobolli vs Grigor Dimitrov prediction

Flavio Cobolli ended a four-match losing streak last time out after reaching the semi-finals of the Lyon Open. However, he spurned four match points against Lorenzo Musetti in that last four match, missing out on the chance of a fourth final of the season. The Italian still remains in a strong position to qualify for the World Tour Finals next month, but his spot is not guaranteed yet.

He faces Grigor Dimitrov in the first-round. Dimitrov was handed a wildcard. His best previous result at this event was a semi-final appearance in 2022. The former world number three did qualify for the US Open, losing in the first-round to Alexei Popyrin in four sets. He remains outside the world’s top 100, with his most impressive result being a round-of-16 appearance at Wimbledon.

Cobolli ended that losing run last time out in Lyon, and I expect him to make a strong start in Vienna, despite Dimitrov’s experience.
