Key stats

  • Faroe Islands are aiming to win successive World Cup qualifying matches for the second time. They previously did so in 1997 when they won back-to-back fixtures against Malta.
  • Croatia are unbeaten in their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (W9 D2).
  • Croatia have won their last four World Cup qualifying matches outside of Croatia.
  • Croatia have kept six clean sheets in their last eight World Cup qualifying matches outside of Croatia.

Faroe Islands vs Croatia prediction

The Faroe Islands come into this one on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 defeat of Gibraltar in the June international break. The Faroese have started UEFA’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with one victory and two defeats in their three matches, sitting six points behind Czechia at the top of Group L.

The often inconsistent and unconvincing Croatia have started their campaign with back-to-back victories after a dramatic UEFA Nations League quarter-final loss to France in March. The Croats most recently dispatched of the aforementioned Czechia by five goals to one as they spring into life this year.

Croatia have scored 12 goals in their two qualifiers, after a 7-0 win in Gibraltar, and backing the Croats would be the way to go for this one up in northern Europe.
