Everton preview: Frustrated Toffees

After a bright start to the campaign, Everton come into this one on the back of a frustrating week in which they lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield last weekend, before losing in the EFL Cup in midweek.

The likes of Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye came off the bench in that eventual 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. Grealish and Ndiaye are a duo that have made it exciting for Toffees supporters at the start of this season.

West Ham preview: Struggling Irons

West Ham United are believed to be on the verge of sacking manager Graham Potter, albeit reports suggest that they may wait until after the October international break with games against Everton and then Arsenal to come for the Irons.

The Hammers come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace at the London Stadium last weekend, making it one win and five defeats in their six matches across all competitions so far this season.

Everton team news: Couple of injuries

Everton welcome West Ham United without any fresh injury concerns for this one and Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye are expected to come back into start after being rested against Wolves.

The Toffees do remain without England international centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite due to injury, as well as midfielder Merlin Rohl, who joined from Freiburg before the close of the summer transfer window.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Beto

Unavailable: Branthwaite (Injured), Rohl (Injured)

West Ham team news: Soucek suspended

West Ham United head to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with just one injury absentee as Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains unavailable for the Hammers due to a stomach issue.

The visitors are also without key midfielder Tomas Soucek, too, as the Czechia international is serving the second of what is a three-match suspension due to a red card received against Tottenham Hotspur.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Areola; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf; Ward-Prowse, Fernandes; Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville; Fullkrug

Unavailable: Wan-Bissaka (Injured), Soucek (Suspended)

Everton vs West Ham prediction

West Ham may find ways of counter-attacking against a defensive-minded former manager in Moyes, and their best performance did come in that way as they defeated Nottingham Forest by three goals to nil at the City Ground before the September international break. Everton, though, will try and get their creative players to pile on the misery of Potter’s men, and a home win remains the likeliest outcome.

Everton vs West Ham tip: Everton to win
