Everton preview: Clear of trouble
Everton became the latest Premier League outfit to fall victim to Erling Haaland's unerring ability to find the net last weekend when the Toffees fell to a 2-0 defeat against Man City at the Etihad Stadium.
David Moyes' side have generally been picking up enough points to steer clear of danger though, and they are still yet to lose in five games across all competitions at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Tottenham preview: Work in progress under Frank
Tottenham lost their second home Premier League game of the season last weekend with Aston Villa leaving London with all three points (1-2) despite the fact that Rodrigo Bentancur had given the hosts the lead after just five minutes.
Thomas Frank's side then played out a goalless draw with Monaco in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, in a match that they were somewhat fortunate to take a point from.
Everton team news: Grealish returns
Jack Grealish will be a welcome returnee after he sat out the match against parent club Man City last weekend, but David Moyes still hasn't found the right formula up front with both Beto and Thierno Barry failing to convince so far this season.
Nathan Patterson will be out for a "couple of weeks" while fellow defender Jarrad Branthwaite is also out after undergoing hand surgery, but there were no other reported injuries in Moyes's press conference.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Beto
Unavailable: Branthwaite (Injured), Patterson (Injured)
Questionable:
Tottenham team news: Romero not quite ready
Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Dominc Solanke are making progress in their respective recoveries but this game will come too soon for them, while there are some minor doubts surrounding Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel.
Six other players remain out for Spurs, many of them key assets, in what has been an injury-plagued campaign so far.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Palhinha; Kudus, Simons, Richarlison; Kolo Muani
Unavailable: Romero (Injured), Dragusin (Injured), Takai (Injured), Davies (Injured), Udogie (Injured), Bissouma (Injured), Maddison (Injured), Kulusevski (Injured), Solanke (Injured)
Questionable: Tel (Injured), Odobert (Injured)
Everton vs Tottenham prediction
Everton may not be scoring too many but they are also fairly stable at the back, and they are looking every bit a mid-table team right now.
Tottenham will want to get back to winning ways quickly after their disappointing home loss to Aston Villa last week, followed by a fairly toothless attacking display against Monaco.
This will be a tough assignment for them though, as Everton have made a bright start to life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. They are yet to taste defeat on their new turf, and could be good value to hold a somewhat misfiring Spurs team to a draw.
