Everton and Newcastle lock horns at Hill Dickinson Stadium after both sides beat Manchester-based opposition last time out.

Everton preview: In-form Toffees

It has been a strong month so far for Everton, having picked up seven points from their three games in November, drawing with Sunderland before defeating both Fulham and Man Utd.

Given the tightly-packed top half in the Premier League table, the Toffees are just five points off second place ahead of the weekend, with David Moyes' men bidding for a third straight league win for the first time this season.

Newcastle preview: Up-and-down

Newcastle got back to winning ways in the Premier League last weekend, as a brace from in-form Harvey Barnes helped the Magpies to an excellent 2-1 victory over Man City at St James' Park.

Eddie Howe's men were in action in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, with Barnes again on the scoresheet, although it wasn't enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat to Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.

Everton team news: Gueye suspended

Idrissa Gana Gueye will miss out with suspension after his moment of madness saw him sent off last week, while Seamus Coleman is also absent with a hamstring injury.

Jarrad Branthwaite, Nathan Patterson and Merlin Rohl are the other injury absentees for the Toffees.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Iroegbunam; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Beto

Unavailable: Branthwaite (Injured), Patterson (Injured), Coleman (Injured), Gueye (Suspended), Rohl (Injured)

Newcastle team news: Wissa in training

Sven Botman and Emil Krafth are doubts for this fixture, while fellow defender Kieran Trippier is expected to be out for about a month with a hamstring issue.

Summer signing Yoanne Wissa has had his first training session with the squad but this fixture will come too soon, while Howe has admitted that he is considering starting with Aaron Ramsdale in goal after a couple of mistakes from Nick Pope lately.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; Livramento, Thiaw, Schar, Burn; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Woltemade, Barnes

Unavailable: Trippier (Injured), Ashby (Injured), Wissa (Fitness)

Questionable: Botman (Injured), Krafth (Injured), Osula (Fitness)

Everton vs Newcastle prediction

Despite their win against Man City last weekend, Newcastle are still nowhere near where they feel they should be in the Premier League table, and they are still yet to record back-to-back wins in the division this season.

Champions League distractions are likely playing a role in that, and Everton will be all too happy to exploit some tired legs on Saturday.

The Toffees will keep things tight, and having kept back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League, we're expecting a low-scoring affair at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton vs Newcastle tip: Under 2.5 goals
