Elche preview: Entertaining Elche

It was an impressive first-half to this season, with Eder Sarabia at the helm, but Elche have since collapsed this time around, albeit they are showing signs of being able to pull away from the drop zone once again.

That is because of a victory over Real Mallorca a few weeks ago, but they then succumbed to a slender 1-0 loss away to Rayo Vallecano at Vallecas in Madrid last weekend, going down to ten men before half-time.

Valencia preview: Pushing away

They now face a Valencia side that have pushed themselves clear of the bottom three and the relegation places with former West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan able to ease some of the pressure on his position.

Los Che come into this one on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Celta Vigo at Mestalla last weekend, with Valencia having taken an early lead before being outplayed by the Galicians and then scoring a late consolation.

Elche vs Valencia prediction

Valencia can begin to relax a little bit with relegation no longer a looming threat. It could well be that last weekend's more open and entertaining encounter is a sign of things to come in the run in. Elche play on the front foot and with a more attacking and progressive style of football, regardless of circumstance, their opposition or their own form, and so a fun watch is always to be expected for the neutral so both teams scoring seems a good bet for this one on Saturday afternoon.

Elche vs Valencia tip: Both teams to score
