Dominika Salkova advanced to her first tour-level quarter-final of the season and made it four straight wins in a row including qualifying as she thrashed Oceane Dodin. Salkova, who pulled off an upset in the previous round with a win over Antonia Ruzic, conceded just two games throughout the entire match as she won 6-1 6-1.
She has a tough task in the last eight as she faces two-time Grand Slam singles champion Barbora Krejcikova. The second seed extended her winning run to seven matches as she beat Lucie Havlickova in straight sets. The 30-year-old, who won the title in Athens last week, conceded just one break point as she won 6-4 6-2 after an hour and 46 minutes.
The former world number two, who lifted the title here in 2021, has played a number of matches in a short space of time, but it’s still hard to look past her winning this one comfortably.
