Salkova went on to seal a 7-6 (2) 6-4 win. This was her second win over Ruzic, and her second win over a top 50 opponent this year.
Her next opponent is Oceane Dodin. The 29-year-old comfortably booked her place in the next stage of the tournament after winning in straight sets against teenager Alisa Oktiabreva. This was her first main draw tour-level victory since the 2024 Miami Open.
