Key Stats

  • Djibouti have won only two of their previous 27 World Cup qualifying matches (D3 L22).
  • Djibouti are without a win in their last 13 World Cup qualifying matches (D1 L12). Since a 2-1 victory against Eswatini in September 2019.
  • Burkina Faso have lost only one of their last 13 World Cup qualifying matches (W7 D5).
  • Burkina Faso have not failed to score in their last 15 World Cup qualifying matches.
  • Lassina Traoré has scored in Burkina Faso’s last four World Cup qualifying matches (five goals in total).

Djibouti vs Burkina Faso Prediction

Djibouti are one of the weakest sides in Africa, and that has been shown in their qualification campaign thus far with just a point collected. Their most recent outing saw them dispatched by six goals to one against Ethiopia in mid-March, a few days after a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Burkina Faso.

Burkina Faso have an excellent squad by relative standards and they are expected to earn themselves a runner up spot in Group A, sitting five points behind Egypt. They had endured a difficult 18 months or so before their qualifying campaign, but they have lost just one of their six matches.

Djibouti do not even home advantage with this game being played in the neutral venue of Guinea-Bissau, and a comfortable Burkina Faso victory is to be expected for this one.

Djibouti vs Burkina Faso Tip: Burkina Faso to win -1 handicap
