Daniel Merida vs Titouan Droguet prediction
Daniel Merida advanced to the quarter-finals of the Croatia Open after beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry in straight sets. The Spaniard was 4-2 down in the first set, but he soon took control to take the lead. He also broke right at the start of the second and held serve after that to win 7-5 6-4. Merida reached the final of the Bucharest Open on his tour-level debut.
He will now face Titouan Droguet. The Frenchman looked on course for a loss against Luca Van Assche after his compatriot opened up a 3-0 lead at the start of the deciding set. However, Droguet won seven of the next nine games to seal a 6-1 1-6 7-5 victory after two hours and four minutes.
There is no clear favourite for this match, and this is likely to be decided by three sets. Merida is becoming a tough player to beat on clay, but Droguet is also a dangerous player on the ATP Tour.
