Damir Dzumhur pulled off an upset at the Croatia Open as he defeated Roland Garros semi-finalist Matteo Arnaldi in three sets. The Bosnian was two points away from victory in the second set, but Arnaldi fought back to force a decider. Nevertheless, Dzumhur would keep his nerve in the final set tiebreak to complete a 7-6 (5) 6-7 (4) 7-6 (4) win after three hours and 42 minutes. He is now into his second successive semi-final at this event.
He will face Alex Molcan next, as he pulled off an upset by beating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Molcan went behind but quickly took control as he beat the second seed 3-6 6-1 6-2.
