Dalibor Svrcina was the seventh seed in Braunschweig last week, but he lost in the round-of-16 after a defeat to Diego Dedura. The Czech was only able to create one break point opportunity during the entirety of the encounter. Svrcina is ranked just outside the top 100 in the world.
He will face Grigor Dimitrov in round one. Dimitrov is competing at this event for the first time since 2013, having reached his second semi-final in Bastad that year. The former world number three was one of the highlights during the first week at Wimbledon, as he advanced to the round-of-16 following stunning victories over Jakub Mensik and Matteo Berrettini. He was on course for a first quarter-final at SW19 since 2014 after taking a two sets to one lead against British wildcard Arthur Fery. However, despite going a break up in the fourth, Fery would mount a fightback and win in five sets.
