Crystal Palace have been brilliant yet again in the Premier League this season with the Eagles welcoming title challenging Manchester City to Selhurst Park in Croydon.

Crystal Palace preview: Impressive Palace

Crystal Palace come into this one on the back of a comfortable 3-0 hammering of Irish champions Shelbourne in the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League, courtesy of goals from Christantus Uche, Eddie Nketiah and Yeremy Pino.

The Eagles begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top four. They have suffered just five defeats in their last 22 matches across all competitions as they build on winning their first ever piece of silverware in May.

Man City preview: Finding form

Manchester City are still some way away from their relentless form of the past but the Cityzens have perhaps turned a little bit of a corner after shaky and entertaining victories against Leeds United and then Fulham in the last couple of weeks.

They then eased past Sunderland by three goals to nil at the Etihad Stadium last weekend before a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, courtesy of goals from Erling Braut Haaland and Nico O’Reilly.

Crystal Palace team news: No Munoz but hopeful on Mateta & Sarr

After their midweek excursions to Ireland, Oliver Glasner has said he is hopeful that both Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr will be available, having described their sitations as looking 'good'.

However, Colombia international right wing-back Daniel Munoz, who surprisingly missed the clash with Fulham last week, is now unavailable for the next four-to-six weeks, while Jaydee Canvot is a doubt due to illness.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Clyne, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Sarr, Pino; Mateta

Unavailable: Kporha (Injured), Munoz (Injured), Doucoure (Injured)

Questionable: Canvot (Illness), Sarr (Injured), Mateta (Injured)

Man City team news: Stones out

Kolo Toure took charge of Manchester City's pre-match press conference and the former Ivory Coast international centre-back confirmed that 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri remains unavailable.

He also confirmed that John Stones should be 'back soon'. The likes of Phil Foden and Erling Haaland were substituted with about half an hour or so to go against Madrid and so should be fit and firing to go in south London.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly; Gonzalez; Silva, Cherki, Foden, Doku; Haaland

Unavailable: Stones (Injured), Rodri (Injured), Kovacic (Injured)

Questionable:

Crystal Palace vs Man City prediction

Crystal Palace have enjoyed three victories in their last four matches in the Premier League but they have just about been getting by and there is a fair fear that they could well be about to struggle with just how congested their fixture schedule is. They face a City side that are a lot more functional than in the past but that should help them in games like this where simply winning and getting out of dodge is the priority.

Crystal Palace vs Man City tip: Man City to win & under 3.5 goals
