Chelsea vs Arsenal prediction

Chelsea’s Champions League dreams are on the verge of going up in smoke for another year and for them to be extinguishing at the hands of local rivals and defending champions Arsenal would truly rub salt into the wound. But Sonia Bompastor’s side wound up second best in the first-leg, the Gunners proving far more clinical in front of goal and earning a 3-1 aggregate lead.

Bompastor and the Blues have not had an answer so far against Arsenal this season, losing two and drawing one of their three previous encounters in 2025-26. That includes a 0-2 defeat the last time these two sides did battle at Stamford Bridge. To overcome a two-goal deficit feels like a huge mountain to climb when considering the quality that Arsenal possess and Renee Slegers knows that one goal from her side could make the task insurmountable.

Arsenal will know that if they bide their time, opportunities should fall their way, although defending against Chelsea team set to throw everything at them is a big challenge. In the end, backing both sides to score is a move well worth making.
