Burnley preview: Second from bottom

Scott Parker is coming under a bit more pressure with the fight that Burnley had shown of late giving way to a woeful performance against Sunderland last weekend, losing by three goals to nil at the Stadium of Light.

That means that the Clarets are now 11 points adrift of safety ahead of the match day but that could be 12 based on how the Friday night clash between Leeds United and Nottingham Forest at Elland Road goes.

West Ham preview: Third from bottom

Nuno Espirito Santo and his West Ham United side got themselves a couple of much-needed victories in January but the Hammers remain six, or potentially seven, points adrift of safety as a result of last weekend’s irritating defeat.

The Irons took a 2-0 lead just before half-time at Stamford Bridge with goals from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville before Chelsea came from behind to win late on in the second-half.

Burnley team news: JWP ineligible

Frustratingly for Scott Parker, Burnley's only signing in the winter transfer window is now unavailable for this weekend as James Ward-Prowse is ineligible to face parent club West Ham.

They have plenty of key injury absentees across the park, such as defender Jordan Beyer, midfielder Josh Cullen and striker Zeki Amdouni.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Dubravka; Tuanzebe, Esteve, Worrall; Walker, Ugochukwu, Florentino, Pires; Edwards, Broja, Anthony

Unavailable: Beyer (Injured), Roberts (Injured), Cullen (Injured), Tresor (Injured), Amdouni (Injured)

Questionable:

West Ham team news: Todibo suspended

In the aftermath of their heated affair with Chelsea, Jean-Clair Todibo finds himself with a three-match suspension due to a red card in second-half stoppage-time in the mini brawl.

Axel Disasi joined on transfer deadline day, on loan from Chelsea, and could well be involved for this one but experienced goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski remains sidelined.

Predicted XI (4-4-1-1): Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf; Bowen, Fernandes, Soucek, Summerville; Pablo; Castellanos

Unavailable: Fabianski (Injured), Todibo (Suspended)

Burnley vs West Ham prediction

With not much business done and Parker seeming even more forlorn than he often does by default, Burnley do appear to be heading down with even a win here seeming to be just damning for their opposition rather than a positive for them. West Ham need to win and they should win. Their performances are improving. They may go down but they are showing some fight.

Burnley vs West Ham tip: West Ham to win
