Brentford have surpassed expectations so far this season as the Bees now welcome a fighting Leeds United side to the Gtech Community Stadium this weekend.

Brentford preview: Overperforming Bees

Brentford, following a very busy summer that suggested to many that they would struggle, begin the weekend sitting tucked inside the middle-of-the-table but they can be dragged towards the bottom three with a defeat this weekend.

The Bees have suffered three defeats in their last four matches as they head into this one on the back of back-to-back 2-0 defeats in north London against Arsenal and then against Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds preview: Showing fight

Daniel Farke was reportedly under pressure despite promotion last season but Leeds United stuck by the former Norwich City boss and they have been rewarded by being more competitive than many would have expected in the summer.

Their recent run of improved form began with coming from 2-0 down to 2-2 before losing against Manchester City before then dispatching of Chelsea at Elland Road and then again producing a comeback to share a 3-3 draw with Liverpool in West Yorkshire.

Brentford team news: Schade suspended

Impressive striker Kevin Schade is missing through suspension for this weekend after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign last week. That has heaped further pressure on the likes of Igor Thiago and Dango Ouattara in the final third.

Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson is once again a potential injury issue but Keith Andrews has said he should be in and around the squad, facing a late fitness test. Keane Lewis-Potter will fancy himself to get the nod this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Kayode, Van den Berg, Collins, Henry; Henderson, Yarmolyuk; Lewis-Potter, Damsgaard, Ouattara; Thiago

Unavailable: Milambo (Injured), Dasilva (Injured), Carvalho (Injured), Schade (Suspended)

Questionable: Nelson (Fitness)

Leeds team news: No Nmecha

Leeds United were hopeful on former Wolfsburg man Lukas Nmecha but he was always going to be a doubt and it has now been confirmed that the versatile attacker is a confirmed absentee for the visitors.

As well as the absence of Nmecha, Wales international attacker Daniel James is also sidelined for a while alongside former Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Perri; Rodon, Bijol, Struijk; Bogle, Stach, Ampadu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Okafor, Calvert-Lewin

Unavailable: Longstaff (Injured), Nmecha (Injured), James (Injured)

Questionable:

Brentford vs Leeds prediction

Leeds have scored seven goals in three matches against three of the so-called ‘big six’ in the Premier League but there is a feeling that they struggle in more ‘run of the mill’ games against some of the middling opposition in the top-flight, such as Brentford. As a result, especially with Keith Andrews’ side having been very strong at home this season, siding with a home win would appear a good bet for this one in the capital city.

Brentford vs Leeds tip: Brentford to win
