How to watch online: UK – discovery+ / US – DAZN & Paramount+

Key stats

  • The only previous UEFA meeting between these teams was on Matchday 4 of this season’s UEFA Europa League when they drew 0-0 in Italy. That is Bologna’s only previous encounter with a Norwegian side.
  • Aside from their Matchday 4 meeting with Bologna, Brann’s only previous UEFA ties against Italian opposition came in the 1989/90 Cup Winners’ Cup first round, where they lost 3-0 on aggregate to Sampdoria (0-2 at home, 0-1 away).
  • Brann have lost only three of their last 13 UEFA home matches (W7 D3).
  • Brann have lost the first leg in only one of their last seven UEFA two-legged ties (W3 D3).
  • Bologna are unbeaten in their last seven UEFA Europa League matches (W4 D3).
  • Bologna have won their last three UEFA Europa League away matches.
  • Jonathan Rowe has scored in Bologna’s last two UEFA Europa League matches.

Brann vs Bologna prediction

Brann come into this one on the back of an impressive campaign in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League, winning two and losing three of their eight matches. They finished 24th in the table and were the only qualifier to not reach double figures for points, though.

Bologna remain one of the favourites for the trophy but they need to find some form and fast. After a woeful couple of months, which continued with Coppa Italia quarter-final elimination last week, Bologna did earn a much-needed 2-1 defeat of Torino at Stadio Grande Torino in Piedmont last weekend.

Brann rely on home advantage and that should help them a bit but a lack of competitive action will also hold them back and Bologna should come out on top in Norway.

Brann vs Bologna tip: Bologna to win
