Bolton vs Stockport prediction

Bolton Wanderers have been knocking on the door of promotion for a few years with this being their third playoff campaign in four seasons and a second playoff final in three, having lost 2-0 to Oxford United in the final at Wembley a couple of years ago.

The upward trajectory of Dave Challinor’s Stockport County has continued once again with the Hatters going one step further than their playoff semi-final loss to Leyton Orient last season, now bidding for a rare return to the second-tier.

Stockport have injury issues at the back meaning that Kyle Wootton, striker, will likely again fill in at centre-back, where he has played well but will now be tested greatly on the big Wembley pitch and an excellent Bolton attack.

Bolton fixed their attacking issues in the spring and their two 1-0 victories against Bradford City in the semi-finals were more as a result of the defensive intent of the Bantams.

Bolton, though, simply cannot be trusted to not concede as many as they score and so backing them is a bit risky but backing the Trotters to score at least twice may well be good value.

Bolton vs Stockport tip: Bolton to score two or more goals
