Bochum Preview: Final Club Remaining Yet To Win

Following Holstein Kiel’s first Bundesliga win of the season last weekend, Bochum are now the only club remaining in the top flight still yet to taste victory in 2024-25. After nine games, they have recorded just one point, losing eight times including most recently against Eintracht Frankfurt by seven goals to two.

It was a terrible defensive display by Bochum who have now conceded 29 goals across nine Bundesliga matches, an average of over three goals per fixture. That doesn’t bode well for them with the reigning champions up next.

Bayer Leverkusen Preview: Draws Becoming Habit

Bayer Leverkusen have drawn four of their last five Bundesliga matches, most recently playing out a 0-0 stalemate with Stuttgart in-which Xabi Alonso’s side dominated but could not find the winning goal. The gap between them in fourth-place and league leaders Bayern Munich now stands at seven points.

However, the visitors are likely still smarting after being taken apart by Liverpool in the Champions League. With a scores level at half-time, a fabulous second half display saw the Premier League side rack up four goals without reply, stunning Leverkusen.

Bochum Team News: Bernardo and Boadu Missing Again For Home Side

Hofmann should lead the line for Bochum in their quest for that first league win with Passlack preferred over Gamboa at right-back. Midfielder Losilla captains the side once again.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Drewes; Passlack, Medic, Ordets, Wittek; Sissoko, Losilla; Broschinski, de Wit, Holtmann; Hofmann

Unavailable: Bernardo (Injured), Boadu (Injured)

Bayer Leverkusen Team News: Broken Leg Rules Out Adli For Extended Period

Amine Adli is a long-term absentee for Leverkusen, who are also without Belocian and Mukiele for the trip to Bochum. Attacking midfielder Martin Terrier is likely to miss out with a muscle problem.

Unavailable: Adli (Injured), Belocian (Injured), Mukiele (Injured)

Questionable: Terrier (Injured)

Bochum Vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

Bayer Leverkusen can’t have any excuses here, even if Xabi Alonso opts to rotate his starting XI. Bottom-of-the-table Bochum are a side who concede goals for fun and have lost eight from nine in the league. This should ultimately prove to be a routine win for the visiting team and one that they are expected to achieve by at least two clear goals.
