Bayern Munich Preview: Will leaders stand up without Kane?
Bayern Munich came from behind to maintain their unbeaten Bundesliga campaign so far with a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker. Jamal Musiala’s header salvaged a point but the biggest story to come out of that game was a hamstring injury to Harry Kane which is likely to keep him out of action until after the international break.
Their first match without Kane saw them beaten 0-1 in the DFB-Pokal at home to Bayer Leverkusen, a match which saw them reduced to ten-men following the sending off of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer early on.
Heidenheim Preview: Nothing to lose in Munich
Heidenheim have dropped into the Bundesliga’s bottom three at the expense of St. Pauli after having lost their last four league games. They were outclassed by Eintracht Frankfurt last Sunday, losing 0-4 to the high-flying visitors and it doesn’t get any easier for them here against the Rekordmeister.
Defensively, they’ll need to be perfect to stand any chance of getting something out of this encounter, although they can at least treat it as a free hit. Although getting out of it with their goal difference not being badly damaged is important.
Bayern Munich Team News: Muller expected to step up
In the absence of Kane, it’s the experienced Thomas Muller who is likely to be given the starting role up top ahead of 19-year-old Mathys Tel. Elsewhere, Joao Palhinha, Josip Stanisic and Hiroki Ito are all still injured.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Guerreiro, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Sane, Musiala, Coman; Muller
Unavailable: Ito (Injured), Kane (Injured), Palhinha (Injured), Stanisic (Injured)

Heidenheim Team News: Defensive stability key
It would be no surprise to see Heidenheim set up with five across the midfield with three of those operating centrally in a bid to protect the back four and snuff out Bayern’s creative players. Niehues and Pieringer are both missing.
Predicted XI (4-5-1): Muller; Traore, Mainka, Gimber, Fohrenbach; Wanner, Dorsch, Maloney, Schoppner, Scienza; Kaufmann
Unavailable: Niehues (Injured), Pieringer (Injured)

Bayern Munich vs Heidenheim Prediction
Despite that loss at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich still had the chances to rescue the game even though they played the majority of the game with ten men. What we saw suggests that Vincent Kompany’s side should still create plenty of chances without Kane, although those on the end of them will need to replicate the England striker’s cutting edge in front of goal. But when you factor in the level of opposition and their recent awful form, the expectation is that Bayern will easily triumph by at least two clear goals.
