Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Staying afloat
Eintracht Frankfurt are currently battling to stay out of the dreaded bottom three and will hope to make home advantage count against a Hamburg side who sit just two places and one point above them in the table. Adi Hutter's men acquitted themselves well away at Borussia Dortmund in their most recent league fixture, but Dortmund did enough to come away with a 1-0 victory at Signal Iduna Park.
Frankfurt will expect better here. To pick up three points, though, they'll need to show more of a ruthless edge going forward, so expect a very attacking approach from the hosts as they look to climb the table.
Hamburg preview: Winning streak halted
Hamburg had been on fire until last weekend, racking up three straight Bundesliga victories over FC Cologne, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart. However, they were brought down to earth by Paderborn, as former Hamburg striker Rayan Philippe struck with two minutes of normal time remaining to seal a 1-0 win over Merlin Polzin’s side.
Despite currently sitting above Frankfurt in the table, Hamburg have scored four fewer goals than their hosts. That’s a worrying sign, and the visitors must improve offensively if they are to avoid being dragged into the relegation dogfight.

Open poll and resultsEintracht Frankfurt vs Hamburg prediction
This is a big opportunity for Eintracht Frankfurt at home, and one they really need to take. Hamburg are not to be underestimated, as their recent winning run shows, but Frankfurt have what it takes to get the job done. Whatever happens, don’t expect a classic by any means between two teams who haven’t exactly set the world alight this season.
However, Frankfurt need the points that little bit more, and when they’re at their very best, they have a squad capable of much more than what we’ve seen so far in 2026-27. Therefore, back them to claim a second straight Bundesliga victory when playing at Deutsche Bank Park.
