Liverpool preview: Clean sheet and cup shoot-out win

Liverpool impressively won 2-0 at Anfield against an in-form Brighton side in their last Premier League game, with a Gross own goal and a finish from Isak giving them back-to-back league wins.

They were back at Anfield in midweek for a Carabao Cup fourth-round tie with Chelsea with the Reds winning 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw, setting up a quarter-final tie at home to Bournemouth.

Arsenal preview: Cup shock after league win

Arsenal got the better of Everton by two goals to nil at home in their last Premier League game, with Ezri Konsa scoring early before Gabriel headed in his first goal of the season on 68 minutes to seal victory. The win lifted them level on 21 points with Man City, and the Gunners have now conceded only five league goals, the fewest in the division.

However, Mikel Arteta's side were then stunned in the Carabao Cup midweek, losing 5-3 on penalties at League Two side Fleetwood following a 1-1 draw. Loupalo-Bi gave Fleetwood the lead, before Viktor Gyokeres equalised to force penalties, but not before Arsenal's 16-year-old attacking midfielder Max Dowman was sent off.

Liverpool team news: Chance for duo

While Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekiteke, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni are all missing for Liverpool, head coach Andoni Iraola has stated that both Victor Munoz and Dominik Szoboszlai "have a chance" of being involved.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak

Unavailable: Leoni (Fitness), Bradley (Injured), Frimpong (Injured), Ekitike (Injured)

Questionable: Munoz (Injured), Szoboszlai (Injured)

Arsenal team news: Late call on Noni

Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice and Christos Tzolis have all trained and are expected to be available for Arsenal, while a late decision will be made on Noni Madueke following Saturday's final training session. Bukayo Saka and William Saliba remain absent.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; White, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Guimaraes; Madueke, Odegaard, Eze; Havertz

Unavailable: Saliba (Fitness), Saka (Injured), Dowman (Suspended)

Questionable: Madueke (Fitness)

Liverpool vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal are in second-place heading into this latest round of fixtures, level on points with table toppers Man City and have won nine of their last ten Premier League games with only one defeat. They are on a three-match winning run which includes back-to-back clean sheets, and have won three of four away league games, all without conceding.

Liverpool are fourth on 15 points and have been victorious in their last two Premier League matches, although they have won only one of four at Anfield this season. They are unbeaten in their last four games (W1 D3) against Arsenal and have kept clean sheets in their most recent two meetings with the Gunners, 1-0 at home and 0-0 in North London.

Both sides were involved in cup games in midweek, and with defences on top in recent showdowns, this looks like a tight contest. With that in mind, back under 2.5 goals to be scored.

Liverpool vs Arsenal tip: Under 2.5 goals
