Bournemouth VS Leeds

AFC Bournemouth have discovered some excellent form of late as The Cherries now welcome a stubborn Leeds United side to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV & online: UK – Not televised & cannot be streamed / USA – NBC & Peacock

Bournemouth preview: Brilliant Bournemouth

After a tough start to the campaign whereby AFC Bournemouth were playing well but struggling for results, Marco Rose’s side have really turned things around and head into this one on the back of five successive victories across all competitions.

Famous 3-0 victories against AC Milan in the UEFA Europa League and Manchester United in the Premier League have been accompanied by wins by the same scoreline against Sturm Graz and Aston Villa as well as a 2-0 win against Sunderland in that run.

Leeds preview: Awkward Leeds

Having made themselves extremely difficult to beat mid-way through last season, Leeds United have remained defensively solid and look as though they may challenge for a top half finish and perhaps even the European spots this season.

Daniel Farke’s side have been left a little frustrated with their last three games either side of the international break with goalless draws against Crystal Palace and Sunderland sandwiching a loss to Arsenal in which they went ahead at the Emirates.

Bournemouth team news: Nothing fresh

There does not appear to be any fresh injury concerns for Bournemouth to deal with as England international midfielder Alex Scott remains sidelined alongside Julian Araujo and Alex Toth.

Previous longer-term absentee Eli Junior Kroupi is working his way back to full fitness after coming off the bench in recent matches but he is again still unlikely to be starting this one, especially given the form of the likes of Marcus Tavernier, Rayan and Evanilson.

Further details will appear here following pre-match press conferences…

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Adams, Cook; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson

Unavailable: Araujo (Injured), Toth (Injured), Scott (Injured)

Questionable:

Leeds team news: Trio could return

Summer signing Nico Elvedi has deputised for Joe Rodon well this season but the former did miss last weekend due to illness. The latter is also working his way back to full fitness.

The likelihood is that Elvedi comes back in for Jaka Bijol as Rodon continues to work his way back alongside Wales international teammate Daniel James.

Further details will appear here following pre-match press conferences…

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Tanaka, Ampadu, Stach, Gudmundsson; Okafor, Calvert-Lewin

Unavailable: Joseph (Injured)

Questionable: Elvedi (Illness), Rodon (Fitness), James (Fitness)

Key stats

  • Bournemouth and Leeds have met four times in the Premier League since 1992/93, with one win each and two draws.
  • All four meetings have produced at least four goals, an average of 5.00 goals per game.
  • The last two meetings both finished 2-2, at Elland Road in September 2025 and at the Vitality Stadium in April 2026.
  • Bournemouth are unbeaten in two home Premier League games against Leeds (W1 D1), including a 4-1 win on 30 April 2023 – the biggest winning margin in the fixture.
  • Bournemouth come into Matchweek 9 on the back of consecutive wins with clean sheets, 2-0 at home to Sunderland and 3-0 at Man Utd.
  • Bournemouth have drawn seven of their last ten home league games (W2 L1).
  • Leeds are seventh coming into Matchweek 9 with 11 points – their best tally after eight games of a Premier League season since 2002/03 (12).
  • Leeds have conceded only six league goals, the second-fewest in the Premier League behind Arsenal (five), and their games have averaged 1.88 goals – the lowest in the division this season.
  • Leeds' five draws are the joint-most in the Premier League this season, level with Brentford, and they have lost only once (2-1 at Arsenal).
  • Leeds have won only two of their last ten away league games (D6 L2).
  • Michael Salisbury refereed the 2-2 draw between the sides at the Vitality Stadium in April 2026.
  • Salisbury's 61 Premier League games since 2021/22 have averaged 3.30 goals, above the league average of 2.70 since 1992/93, and Leeds' six games under him have produced 30 goals (5.00 per game).

Bournemouth vs Leeds prediction

Bournemouth have been brilliant in the last couple of weeks. 14 goals scored without conceding in a five-match run that has started to reflect their performance level in the opening stages of the campaign. They have stopped conceding late and sloppy goals. Leeds are a side that cut out those sloppy mistakes about 12 months or so ago but they haven’t quite found a consistent fluency in the final third just yet this season, albeit were electric in a 4-1 defeat of Newcastle United last month. Two defensively solid sides, a low-scoring contest may well be a decent bet for this one down on the south coast.

Bournemouth vs Leeds tip: Under 2.5 goals
