Barcelona vs Paris FC prediction

Barcelona begin the defence of their European crown after reclaiming the title last season, beating ling-time rivals OL Lyonnes 4-0 in a one-sided final in Oslo.

There have been plenty of comings and goings in the Barca squad over the summer, not least the departure of the influential Alexia Putellas, but they remain one of the red-hot favourites for the title. Indeed, they have been crowned Women's Champions League winners four times in the last six years and finished as runners-up in the other two.

Paris FC gave a good account of themselves last season, finishing tenth in the inaugural league phase and reaching the knockout phase play-offs, where they lost 2-5 on aggregate to Real Madrid.

However, they have already lost 7-1 to French rivals OL Lyonnes in their domestic league this season, which is a stark reminder of where they sit in the pecking order compared to the very best sides in the women's game.
