Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – FOX Sports

How to watch online: UK – Cannot be streamed / US – Disney+

Key stats

  • Azerbaijan are without a win in their last 14 World Cup qualifying matches (D2 L12), since a 5-1 home victory against San Marino in September 2017.
  • Iceland have won only two of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L5).
  • Only two of Iceland’s last 51 World Cup qualifying matches have finished without a goal being scored.

Azerbaijan vs Iceland prediction

In Group D of CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Azerbaijan remain winless with one point collected from their four qualifiers thus far. They have scored twice and conceded 11 in a tough group that also consists of France and Ukraine, most recently losing by two goals to one in Poland against the Ukrainians.

Iceland have an exciting crop of players coming through, such as the likes of Lille man Hakon Haraldsson and Fiorentina attacker Albert Gudmundsson. The Icelanders’ four matches have consisted of 20 goals, having most recently shared a 2-2 draw against France on Reykjavik in a game in which they had been 1-0 up.

Iceland will head to Azerbaijan with an awareness they should the game to their opposition but they can often let themselves down at the back and that may be the case.

Azerbaijan vs Iceland tip: Iceland to win & both teams to score
