Australia vs South Africa prediction
An incredible unbeaten 125 from just 56 balls by Dewald Brevis propelled South Africa to 218/7, a winning score against Australia to draw this three-match series level. The margin of victory was 53 runs as the hosts were bowled out for 165, with all six of South Africa’s bowlers utilised picking up at least one wicket. There are still question marks over the batting of the Proteas, but Brevis masked those in Darwin.
Whilst Australia’s T20i winning streak came to an end, they are unlikely to be phased. When a player has an individual innings like what we saw from Brevis, you just tip your cap and move on. Such knocks are rare and the Aussies know that they’ve had the better of South Africa’s batting line-up for the vast majority of this series.
South Africa have significant threats within their top and middle order as they showed in match two, but from an all-round perspective, Australia still look the better side and backing them to bounce back and win the series has to be favoured.
