Yegishe Melikyan is in charge of an Armenia side that have underwhelmed for a while, continuing with back-to-back 1-1 draws against Kazakhstan and Moldova in June after beginning their calendar year with a 2-1 loss at home to Armenia.

Latvia managed to avoid relegation to League D by earning a 2-0 aggregate defeat of Gibraltar in the UEFA Nations League back in March. The Latvians have since drawn a 1-1 draw with Lithuania and then a 1-0 defeat to the Faroe Islands.

The Latvians’ defeat to the Faroese ended what was a three-match unbeaten run this year and they will seek to be awkward opponents here with a low-scoring contest to be expected in Yerevan.
