Antonia Ruzic last competed at Wimbledon, losing in the second-round to Jelena Ostapenko. Ruzic won just two games during the entire match as she fell to a 6-2 6-0 defeat. She began her season with a run to the semi-finals of the Hobart International, but she is yet to match that feat. Overall, the 23-year-old has lost 20 of her 38 matches this season. Despite her patchy form, she did reach her highest ranking of 50 in the world earlier this month.
This will be Ruzic’s first appearance at the Prague Open, and she faces Dominika Salkova in round one. Salkova has won a title on the ITF circuit this season, but she has just the one victory on the WTA Tour in 2026. She did manage to qualify for this event after two straight set wins.
Ruzic does lead the head-to-head 3-1, but Salkova did win their only previous match against each other on clay. Ruzic will be viewed as the favourite, though her opponent does have momentum on her side after those two wins.
