Andrey Rublev vs Sebastian Baez prediction
Andrey Rublev ended a run of three matches without a win as he beat Andrea Pellegrino at the Swedish Open. Rublev spurned three match points in the second set tiebreak, but he responded well to win 7-6 (3) 6-7 (7) 6-3. The Russian did not concede a break point across the entire match. He is a former champion at the event, winning the title in 2023.
He will face Sebastian Baez in the next round. Baez produced a fine display to beat Jesper de Jong in straight sets. The eighth seed was not broken on serve and conceded just the one break point as he won 6-4 6-2.
Baez does lead the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Rublev in straight sets at the semi-final stage of this tournament four years ago. Nevertheless, the world number 16 will be viewed as the favourite to win this time around.
