Key Stats

  • Algeria have lost only two of their last 15 World Cup qualifying matches (W11 D2).
  • Algeria have won five of their previous six matches in the current World Cup qualifying campaign (L1).
  • None of Algeria’s last 36 World Cup qualifying matches finished without a goal being scored. Their last 0-0 in FWCQ was away from home against Rwanda in March 2009.
  • Botswana have won three of their last five World Cup qualifying matches (L2).

Algeria vs Botswana Prediction

With an impressive squad, Algeria come into this one on the back of a thrilling 4-3 defeat against a similarly exciting Sweden side in a friendly back in June. In CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Algerians sit at the top of Group G, three points above Mozambique with four games to play for.

They now face a Botswana side that have actually been quite stubborn and competitive in qualification. They have picked up three victories with three defeats in their six matches, with those six games consisting of 17 goals, which is more entertaining than one would expect.

Despite the more enterprising and impressive style that Botswana have been able to play with, Algeria are the overwhelming favourites for this one, especially at home.

Algeria vs Botswana Tip: Algeria to win -1 handicap
