Alexandra Eala vs Han Shi prediction
Having broken into the top 20 in the WTA rankings this year, Alexandra Eala is generally on an upwards trajectory but the Asian swing hasn't quite worked out for her so far.
The 21-year-old failed to medal at the Asian Games and was an early casualty at the Singapore Tennis Open, but she did win a hard-court title at the Mubadala DC Open two months ago.
Han Shi, exactly a weak younger than Eala, was handed a tough draw in qualifying but overcame both Peyton Stearns and Kamila Rakhimova to reach the main draw. The Chinese player is generally more active on the ITF circuit though, and has found wins hard to come by on the WTA Tour.
Eala is the comfortable favourite here and we wouldn't be surprised to see the Filipino take this in straight sets.
Alexandra Eala vs Han Shi tip: Alexandra Eala to win 2-0
