Daria Snigur vs Elise Mertens prediction

Elise Mertens has been in excellent form of late and arrives in Wuhan on the back of a semi-final surge in Beijing.

The Belgian meets Daria Snihur for the first time with the Ukrainian also making a good impression in recent months, reaching a final in Prague and the round of 16 in Beijing.

Elise will be the name expected to progress in this maiden showdown but don’t rule out Snigur making this an immediate first-hurdle test, with the prospect of at least one lengthy set.
