Stefanos Tsitsipas continued his resurgence with a straight sets win over Luciano Darderi in the second-round of the Shanghai Masters. Tsitsipas was not broken on serve across the match, winning 6-3 6-4. He advanced to the round-of-16 at the US Open for the first time in his career last month, beating the likes of Arthur Fils and Jiri Lehecka before a defeat to eventual finalist Ben Shelton. 

He will now play Taylor Fritz. The American beat Matteo Arnaldi in straight sets. Fritz won 80% of his first serve points as he claimed a 6-4 7-5 victory after exactly two hours. 

Tsitsipas leads the head-to-head 4-2 and 2-1 on outdoor hard court. They last played each other right at the start of the year at the United Cup, with the two-time Grand Slam finalist winning in straight sets. He has endured a difficult year for the most part, but his recent performances should have restored some confidence, and he could cause Fritz problems if he maintains his level.
