Jasmine Paolini vs Sara Bejlek prediction

Jasmine Paolini is the 15th seed at the Wuhan Open. The Italian impressed at the event last year, comfortably beating Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals to advance to the last four, where she was defeated by eventual champion Coco Gauff. Her season has been affected by injury and a loss of form, with just one semi-final in 2026. Paolini suffered an early exit at the China Open last time out, losing to Daria Snigur.

Sara Bejlek lost in the third-round of that event, following a defeat to Naomi Osaka in straight sets. She produced an incredible performance at the Cincinnati Open back in August, beating Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys to advance to the semi-finals. However, she has just two wins from five matches since that event. Bejlek also won the first tour-level title of her career at the Abu Dhabi Open back in February.

Paolini does have a strong record at this event, with five wins from seven matches. She remains the favourite to see off Bejlek.
