Al Shabab vs Al Khaleej prediction

Al Shabab have appointed former Real Sociedad boss Imanol Aguacil over the summer, with the expectation being that they kick on to a top four spot. The hosts finished sixth last season and eight points behind the top four. They have added the likes of Daniel Podence, Habib Diallo and Vincent Sierro over the summer.

They now face an Al Khaleej side that remain heavily Greek-influenced, with Georgios Donis at the helm, and Dimitrios Kourbelis, Georgios Masouras and Kostas Fortounis among their eight foreign players. Al Khaleej, rather stereotypically therefore, play quite a defensive and reactive style of football.

Imanol is known for a high energy and aggressive style of football but his teams often lack cutting edge and, up against a dour Al Khaleej side, a low-scoring encounter is to be expected.

Al Shabab vs Al Khaleej tip: Under 2.5 goals
